| Stacy Forrestt is a native of Eastern Pennsylvania. She was educated at a small, private, liberal arts college in her hometown, and later earned a master's degree of science in Physician Assistant Studies at DeSale's University, one of the top programs in the country. Stacy worked in neurology for seven years with patients diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, peripheral neuropathy, migraine headache, low back pain, and other chronic pain syndromes. The physicians in the practice served as mentors for her on many levels. It was here that she learned what a privilege and significant responsibility it is to take care of other people. This was a nurturing environment that fostered a strong belief in continuing education and personal growth. Her role as a clinician expanded into research projects, a patient lecture series, and program development. As her own yoga practice continued to expand and provide her with many unexpected benefits, she began teaching basic postures and breathing techniques to her patients at the Headache Center of the Lehigh Valley. Now, several years later, on an evolving career path, she wants to bring what she has learned to people seeking improvement in their quality of life. She completed the Yoga Alliance Certification Program in Nosara, Costa Rica with multi-disciplinary teachers Don and Amba Stapleton. She continues to travel, study, and teach with her partner Clint Forrestt. Their adventures have taken them to India, Guatemala, Canada, and across the United States. After Clint introduced her to Anusara Yoga and teachers John Friend and Desiree Rumbaugh, her own practice and teaching style quickly transformed. Now, the focus is on precise alignment of the body to allow for optimal flow of breath and energy. With this method, natural healing can occur on many levels, including physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. Individuals can begin to prevent stress and disease and even to alleviate the symptoms of pre-existing conditions. Through a consistent yoga practice, students can learn to enhance their self-awareness and consciousness as well as to develop the ability to attract more positive outcomes in their lives. This is where the journey of self discovery and healing begins. Ultimately, as a teacher, she wants to inspire her students to find strength and grace in every situation, express love and gratitude often, and most importantly, to celebrate life both on and off the yoga mat.
